The Sacred Heart art program is offered in grades pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade. The art program exposes students to many varieties of art media. They learn about a variety of artists, their works, and art from different cultures, which enriches their learning and creates a better-rounded student. Art is incorporated in other subject areas to enhance the learning process by the use of hands-on activities. The art program encourages students to express their creativity, explore their environment, and aids in the development of artistic success in all areas of learning.
The music program focuses on several aspects of music education. Students learn to sing, dance, and play a variety of instruments. In grades four and five, students learn to read music by playing the recorder. The program also enhances knowledge by exposing students to different composers and musical time periods.
Physical Education provides opportunities for each student to develop their physical wellness through the use of physical activity and skill development appropriate to their grade level. Students learn basic skills common to team sports and individual fitness activities.
I cherished knowing they were receiving an exceptional religious and academic education. As a teacher at Sacred Heart, working with the caring professionals who provide that education is extraordinary!
The teachers are truly invested in our children’s spiritual and scholastic education. They are passionate about seeing their students succeed. The administration helps creates an environment of kindness, responsibility, and leadership to make Sacred Heart a successful educational experience for the students.
All four of my own children attended Sacred Heart and were well-prepared for higher grades. All four of my children still currently have friends from Sacred Heart. Also, I’m glad I teach at a Catholic school because I feel like I can truly be myself, and express my love and zeal for God openly.
Each room is filled with students that come from different backgrounds but come together as one within our faith. We instil in our students a deep appreciation for themselves, their peers, and in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are always looking toward Christ to guide us in both our teaching and our interaction with students, parents, and peers.
We honor our military throughout the school year and I love it because I get to hear their stories, every Christmas each class gets to decorate a Christmas tree, and every Thanksgiving we invite parents to a feast, and much much more. These moments are great because it's an amazing bonding time between families and our school family.
